An international competition with two works shortlisted. ‘Into the Dark Woods’ and ‘The Circle’

2023 Drawing in the Shadows spudGALLERY, New Forest

A collaboration with Artist Stephanie James drawing in shadows and exploring the darker corners of rooms, spaces and people.

2022                     Into the Dark Woods               spudGALLERY, New Forest

The woods have long held a significant place in our history and folk law as sites of caution, the unknown and danger. They have functioned as a transgressive place and housed immoral cultures in cautionary tales, literature, and shadowy corners of the human condition. The artists have reflected on the historic language of waving as an activation point, a once a universal skill now relegated to craft through technology. Currently longlisted for 2023 Chaiya Art Award

2022                     Intersecting Circles               spudGALLERY, New Forest

‘This exhibition has been born out of a chance studio visit. Conversations started in response to Bob’s circle of ordered pigments and their unintended relationship to the paintings around them. As we stood amongst a series of chanced interlocking circles in Bob’s studio we discussed psychedelics, colours, walking unknown paths, Quantum time, Hamish Fulton, infinitesimal space and mandalas and saw the potential in the circular forms.’ Currently longlisted for 2023 Chaiya Art Award
